Ladies in the Boardroom is a transformational economic empowerment initiative founded by Dr. Edith F. Gibson and currently managed and led operationally by Apostle Pauline Forkwa, designed to bridge the gap between entrepreneurial talent and real opportunity for African business leaders.
The initiative was launched in Cameroon with the support of the UK Government between November 2024 and March 2025, a foundational season that successfully equipped over 400 women entrepreneurs with practical business knowledge, mentorship, visibility, access to funding, and strategic networks. While many participants demonstrated strong vocational and technical skills, the programme addressed critical gaps in business structuring, finance readiness, legal frameworks, pitching, and market access.Beyond training, Ladies in the Boardroom is built on a long-term ecosystem approach. Through curated masterclasses, mentorship, networking forums, field visits, digital learning platforms, and investment-focused pitch sessions, the initiative connects entrepreneurs to financial institutions, legal professionals, international markets, and decision-makers creating pathways from informal enterprise to scalable, investable businesses.
Due to overwhelming demand and impactbeyond initial projections, Ladies in the Boardroom was formally structured asa non-profit organisation, ensuring continuity, sustainability, and expansionbeyond its first funded season. The initiative has since evolved into a broaderleadership and enterprise development platform, including the launch of Menin the Boardroom, reflecting a holistic vision for inclusive economicleadership under the same strategic direction.
